Friday Favorites: Oliver Sacks

The Man who Mistook His Wife for a Hat by Oliver Sacks is such a fascinating read. Oliver Sacks is a professor of neurology and psychiatry and has written numerous books relating his experiences over the years with different psychiatric patients.

His book Awakenings was made into a movie years ago, but another that is really interesting is Musicophilia which explores the power of music in people’s lives and the connections our minds make with music. My friend Jack recently wrote an entire facebook post about music and his specific memories that were attached to certain songs and I thought about this book. Really interesting stuff!
