Friday Favorites: Frontal Cortex

Looking for something super-interesting to read? Check out Jonah Lehrer’s blog, Frontal Cortex. This guy’s smart: he’s a contributing editor for Wired and the author of How We Decide and Proust was a Neuroscientist.
His observations about human nature and social psychology are on point, insightful, and interesting but also written in a very down-to-earth way. I love it that social psychology is really just the study of people and how we behave; it’s something that I think should interest everyone and should be able to be explained to people even if they aren’t psychologists. Sample titles of blog posts include: Why Do People Eat Too Much; The Importance of Mind-Wandering; How Friends Ruin Memory: The Social Conformity Effect; How Should We Make Hard Decisions?; and Why Being Relaxed Makes Us Spend Too Much Money.
