Friday Favorites: Richard Avedon
Richard Avedon’s portraits are lovely and simple. He’s known for photographing Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles, Andy Warhol, the 1982 Versache campaign, and Harper’s Bazaar.
His black and white portraits have a distinct look and feel to them, like this one of Bridgitte Bardot.
So Beautiful! (Let’s admit it: you could probably take a pretty awesome pic of her just with an iphone; it might all be about the subject in this case!)
One of my favorites of Avedon’s, however, doesn’t follow his usual portrait style, but it just makes me smile:
