Happy New Year!

Since a huge group of some of our best friends were going to the Avett Brothers concert at the BiLo Center for new year’s, a few of us decided to throw a little get-together to celebrate the new year and to have something to do rather than floating around downtown that night.

Jack and I took over the guest list while Kelly and Shannon got to venue together; we ended up using Shannon’s fantastic loft that was just made for a party, complete with a 16-foot Christmas tree that was beautifully decorated.

The party was so much fun! So many groups merged together to celebrate that night and I think everyone had a great time.

Before heading out to the Lofts for the party, Jack and I met Ward at his place and snapped a few pictures. I just loved my dress that my friend had sent to me as a Christmas/birthday gift the day before new years! Perfectly timed to wear for new years!

And Jack was looking as hipster as he could. The shoes take it over the top. :)

Other highlights:

-Sunday lunch and sharing last night’s stories with Liz, Kelly, and Jack

-Sunday low-key evening watching Ryan Gosling with a group at Liz’s place

-playing Rock Band and dominating on the vocals for  Jimmy Eat World. 98%! (that only means that I know every word to the song, of course, not that I have a fantastic singing voice) :)

-making new years resolutions. I really love to regroup and make fun goals every year. Besides the vague “be a better daughter, sister, friend” kind of resolutions, this year’s goals include: working out at least 4 times per week with yoga and p-90x kempo; ordering only water when out (I’ll cut myself a bit of slack every now and then for sweet tea, of course!); and reading through a list of great books I’ve been wanting to read or finish.
