Weekend Highlights
This weekend’s biggest highlight was finding out that Anna and Jason are having a BOY! They planned out a big party and had everyone make a guess, then they cut a cake to reveal blue! It was a great family time!

For the party, I made these yummy strawberry shortcakes with basil and balsamic. I was a little nervous about the combination of flavors but Rachael Ray had insisted that they would go perfectly together so I gave it a try. Success!
After the party, I met up with a few friends to experience restaurant week at Rick Erwin’s. I had never had dinner there before and we were all eager to try the place out! We had a leisurely dinner starting at about 9:30 and ending around 11:30 and it was a blast.
The other highlight of my weekend was definitely the Mat Kearney concert at the Handlebar on Saturday night. He is an amazing musician and knows how to put on a good show.
At one point during the concert, Mat jumped down into the crowd and proceeded to walk through giving people high fives while singing. He kept walking and ended up going right through my group of friends, and then came right up to me and gave me a hug! So now I guess I have to be a fan. I mean, I know he never hugs girls at concerts so it was a pretty special.
It was a really good night.
